I had the pleasure of playing my very first Napoleonic era wargame this past Saturday, at Orccon in Los Angeles. It was a 28mm recreation of the Battle of Sacile in 1809. I took on the role of the French, with some beautifully painted models from the collection of Wargamerabbit. Take a look below at some of the action shots!

Last weekend saw the second turn of our Firestorm Market Garden campaign, and true to form it was an awesome affair! We managed to play five games between us, including one large two-on-one battle between a British Armored Company and a US Para Company Vs. an SS Panzerkompanie.

I stupidly lost both of the games I played in, but the Axis forces continue to hold on to every piece of land they can. Look for the next round of games to be happening soon!

Some of the excellent chaps at my local gaming club, Ordo Ineptus are throwing a short summer campaign based on Operation Market Garden.

Using some modified rules to make gameplay lighter, we’re using the Firestorm boxed set as our campaign tracker. As the campaign organizer, I’ve added an extra twist – both factions, Allied and German, have their own secret blog site, where they can post their strategies and any other useful info to help their cause. I plan on sharing the links with both teams at the end of the campaign, for a laugh!

Last week we played the first round of games – I’m on the German side and fielded a 1000pt Grenadier list… with a Konigstiger of course! Here’s some pics of the event…
