I recently went on a Warhammer Fantasy Battle painting binge and finished up with the results you see below. I’ve always felt the Empire was at the very core of the Warhamer world, so having this army was essential. It was also an excuse to paint up the old Dogs of War Witch Hunter model I’ve had sitting around for nearly 15 years!
Let’s make this clear. I’m not a killer-list tournament winning sort of player at all. I know I probably need a horde of three to make this army viable with the current rules edition. But that’s boring. I wanted to paint a bunch of different models instead, so I’ve got smaller blocks of infantry, both for hand to hand and ranged attack.
I’m not completely finished with the project – I have a Volley Gun and some Pistoliers left to paint – see I told you I wasn’t competitive! Other than that, I’m not completely happy with my Heroes/Lord choices. I’m not thrilled with either of the Griffon or Arch Lector models, but I’ll probably cave and get one of them eventually.
It’s been a while since I painted anything for Warhammer Fantasy Battle. It was a refreshing change, and I’m not sure what project to take up next. I’m going to finish up a couple of loose-end models and then dive into something big again. Watch this space!
